2025 - now Xianger|享耳 「Hushed Reverbations」 explores how images come into being and how they enter into relationships with people. Photography selects fragments from the continuum of reality, shaping them into images through framing, scale, time, and light. In this process, the landscape is preserved and reorganized. When an image re-enters reality on a screen, on paper, or in another form, it encounters the viewer’s body, memories, and expectations, giving rise to a new experience of seeing. The work examines the connections and shifts between these two transformations: how things become images, how forms within images are recognized as objects, and how recognition develops into understanding, associations, and feelings. The relationships retained, excluded, or altered through selection continue to shape the world as we see it. The six chapters approach this process through experience, objects, duration, remnants, withdrawal, and the gradual weakening of distinctions. By adjusting the conditions under which images are formed and viewed, the work seeks to make familiar, often unnoticed relationships perceptible again: how we come to know the world through images, and how we give images new meaning through looking. 「Reverberation」unfolds within these continuing relationships. The scene leaves traces in the image; the image takes on new forms through viewing; and the experience that remains shapes how we next encounter the world.
